About Quarry Ridge Electric
One van in 1998. Five vans, the same last name, and the same rule: the price we quote is the price you pay.
Roy Hutchins started this company out of a garage off Overland Road with a used van, a borrowed ladder, and a phone that rang in the kitchen. The first year’s customers were neighbors on the Bench — ranch homes with tired panels and fuse boxes that had outlived their era.
His daughter Katie grew up sorting wire nuts in that garage. She pulled her first permit at 22, made Master Electrician, and took over the business in 2019. Roy is officially retired, which everyone understands to mean he still does Saturday estimates.
We’ve wired North End bungalows, Harris Ranch new-builds, Kuna shops and Eagle hot tubs. The tools changed. The rule didn’t: tell people the truth, put the price in writing, and leave the place cleaner than you found it.

Our generator and EV lead. Passed his journeyman exam on the first try — we still hear about it.

The voice on the phone. Answers before the second ring, and her call-back list never rolls to tomorrow.
On paper, not just on the van
Ask for our certificate of insurance and we’ll email it before we start — happily.

Around town
We sponsor the electrical-safety station at the school district’s STEM night, keep a standing crate at the Idaho Foodbank drive every November, and yes — that’s our van at the Boise Farmers Market on Saturdays. Roy’s orders.
We answer 7am–7pm, Mon–Sat — and every call gets a same-day call back.
