A 1998 panel meets a 2026 life

Is Your Boise Home’s Electrical Ready for the Way You Live Now?

An EV in the garage. A heat pump instead of gas. A hot tub, a shop, two home offices. The average Boise house was wired for a very different life — and the panel is where it shows first.

  • Breakers that trip when two big loads run at once
  • A 100-amp service that can’t take a Level 2 charger
  • Warm outlets, flickering lights, aluminum branch wiring
  • No room left in the panel for the addition you’re planning

We’ll run a load calculation and tell you straight — call (208) 555-0148 or request a free quote.

The difference

Why Boise Homeowners Choose Quarry Ridge

Same-day, most days

Call before noon and we’re usually there the same day — and every call gets a same-day call back. Always.

The price is the price

Flat-rate, in writing, before work starts. The number on the quote is the number on the invoice.

We pull the permits

Permit filed, inspector scheduled and met on site. You never deal with the city — that’s our job.

Clean is part of the job

Drop cloths down, walls patched, floors swept. Our crews are told the cleanup is the job.

Breaker kept tripping in the kitchen and two other outfits couldn't get out for a week. Quarry Ridge came the same afternoon, found a scorched neutral in the panel, and had it fixed in about an hour. Charged exactly what they quoted on the phone.

Fast, fair, and they cleaned up after. Recommend.

Our 1962 ranch on the Bench still had the original Federal Pacific panel. Katie walked us through photos of why it had to go, handled the permit, and the new 200-amp panel passed inspection first time. She even came out to Kuna on a Saturday to finish the punch list. The final bill matched the written quote to the dollar.

Took a day longer than scheduled — the inspection window slipped — but they called ahead both times. The work itself is spotless. New panel and the EV circuit look factory.

Response from the ownerThanks Jason — the city moved our inspection slot and I'm glad the heads-up calls helped. Enjoy the charger! — Katie

Level 2 charger in our Meridian garage. They did the load calculation first, pulled the permit, and filed the Idaho Power rebate paperwork for us. Charging at home now costs us almost nothing.

We lose power up off Table Rock Road a couple times every winter. The standby generator they installed kicks on in seconds — Danny walked me through the transfer switch until I could work it in the dark.

We know these houses

Boise’s Electrical Landscape: What We See Most

Twenty-eight years in the same valley teaches you where the problems live.

Federal Pacific & Zinsco panels

Still common in Bench and West Boise ranch homes from the 50s–70s. Known failure-to-trip risk — we replace several every month.

Knob-and-tube in the North End

Beautiful old bungalows, original wiring. We rewire them with the plaster kept as intact as possible — and your insurer kept happy.

100-amp services meeting EVs

The most common call of the last three years: a new EV in the driveway and a panel from 1978. Load calc first — upgrade only if it’s truly needed.

Aluminum branch wiring

1960s–70s subdivisions from Kuna to Caldwell. We remediate with approved connectors or rewire — priced honestly, either way.

This season

$79 Whole-Home Electrical Safety Inspection

Big job? Spread it out.

Panel upgrades, generators and rewiring can be financed from about $89/month through approved lenders. Real numbers before any work starts — just ask when you call.

We pull the permits

Every panel, generator and rewire is permitted and inspected. We file it, schedule it, and meet the inspector — you don’t deal with the city.

Straight answers

Questions Boise Asks Us

Do you charge for estimates?

Estimates for defined jobs — panels, EV chargers, generators, lighting — are free and in writing. Troubleshooting visits have a $79 diagnostic fee that is credited to the repair if you go ahead. You'll never be quoted a number after the fact.

Is a permit required for a panel upgrade in Boise?

Yes — a service change in Boise or anywhere in Ada County needs a permit and an inspection. We pull the permit, schedule the inspector, and meet them on site. You don't deal with the city at all.

Do I need a panel upgrade to install a Level 2 EV charger?

Often you don't. We run a load calculation on your existing panel first — many 200-amp homes, and some 100-amp homes with load management, can take a Level 2 charger as-is. If an upgrade genuinely isn't needed, we'll tell you so.

How fast can you get here?

Most calls that reach us before noon get same-day service, Monday through Saturday. Either way, you'll get a call back the same day — that's a promise we publish, not a hope.

Do you offer financing?

Yes — on panel upgrades, generators and rewiring projects, through approved lenders, from around $89/month. Ask when you call and we'll give you real numbers before any work starts.

What parts of the Treasure Valley do you cover?

Boise, Garden City, Meridian, Eagle, Kuna, Star, Nampa, Caldwell and Middleton — roughly everything within 45 minutes of our shop. Don't see your town? Call us — we probably cover it.
